I was trained at a full time private ballet school in Hertfordshire and then moved to The London College of Dance and Drama, London in Park Lane.  The College was founded by Anita Heyworth and was the first of its kind to train teachers for dance and drama as part of the Arts Educational Trust, under the patronage of Dame Beryl Grey, now life President of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Along with jazz, modern, character, Greek, historical, ballroom and Latin American, I specifically trained in Cecchetti Ballet. Cecchetti was an Italian dancer and teacher who inspired and taught for the famous Diaghilev Ballet Russes and taught probably one of the most famous dancers in the world, Anna Pavlova and Nijinsky. One of my original ballet teachers was taught by Cecchetti himself.

I received my Teaching Diploma in l969 and travelled to work in Athens, Greece for three years both as a dancer and a teacher for one of the biggest ballet schools in Athens. I performed in the theatre and did some film work. I returned to England where I married and returned to dancing in Nottingham with Mavis Hoffman who was a Cecchetti examiner. I ran her school for three years, and then moved to Derby Academy of Dance with Eve Levaux (Ballet Rambert) to teach Cecchetti Ballet and National and Modern.

I taught for 5 years at Loughborough University in the Dance Department. I have also taught dance at Trent College, and Nottingham Girls High School. I then went to teach Dance and Drama at Greenholme Preparatory School in Nottingham, and then at Ratcliffe College, where I am currently head of Dance and Drama.. In the late 1980’s, I took part and choreographed in various programmes for the BBC regarding dance.

I have worked as a choreographer in the area for numerous operative and dramatic societies with several Gilbert and Sullivan productions, My Fair Lady, The King and I, La Traviata, and a summer season at Guernsey Little Theatre with Fiddler on the Roof, a series of summer dramas, and an Old Time Music Hall. I have also run for twenty years, summer drama workshops in Nottingham putting on a play in a week with over 60 children.
